The Role - Youth Mentor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth Mentor to join a dynamic SEMH school in Tower Hamlets. This role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASD), and challenging behaviour. The ideal Youth Mentor will have strong behaviour management skills, experience in de-escalation techniques, and a passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities of the Youth Mentor:

* Building positive relationships with students to support their personal and academic development

* Implementing structured routines and restorative approaches to encourage positive behaviour

* Providing tailored mentoring and pastoral support in a safe and nurturing environment

* Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to create individualised support plans

Located in Tower Hamlets, this SEMH school provides specialist education for 72 students aged 5-16 with SEMH and ASD needs.
