Role- Design EngineerSalary- £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Type- PermanentLocation- Bristol (hybrid working is available)  My client designs and manufactures Consumer Products. They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis.   The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• 2 years or more of experience in a similar Product Design / Mechanical Engineering position
• Excellent proficiency with 3D CAD software – ideally Inventor or SolidWorks  
• Experience working on full lifecycle design projects 
• Ideally be Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or similar
• Knowledge of a sheet metal, injection moulded plastics, welding, fabrication, castings etc.
• Good understanding of product development, FEA, prototyping and R&D  
• Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
• Proven ability to drive Engineering development
• Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
• Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Design Engineer role will involve:

• Developing ideas from concept through to production 
• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Working on full lifecycle product design projects 
• Speaking to End Users and doing market research 
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly of products
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
