Audit Manager - Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Audit Manager for our London office (hybrid working), offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders and a diverse client portfolio. Reporting directly to a Partner, you'll have the autonomy to manage audits (70%) and accounts (30%) for a variety of clients, from renewable energy companies to pharmaceuticals and property businesses. You'll also supervise junior staff, stay updated on sector developments, and share insights with clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate is an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant with 3+ years of experience managing a mixed client portfolio, preferably from a Top 100 or reputable regional firm. Relevant Experience:

  • Extensive experience in conducting external audits for SMEs under UK GAAP.
  • Strong working knowledge of FRS 102 is essential; familiarity with IFRS is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of accounting and auditing standards, with proven analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Caseware and Alphatax is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful results and add value to client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous managerial experience is required, with the ability to lead and develop a team.

  • Deep understanding and practical application of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Experience managing a diverse portfolio of small to large clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with partners and team members at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to produce accurate, high-quality written reports.
  • Capable of managing conflicting priorities and performing under pressure.
  • Strong time management skills to coordinate audits and projects, ensuring timely completion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Skilled in assessing complex financial, operational, and compliance processes to evaluate risks effectively.
  • Commercially aware with a sound understanding of the business environment.
