Religious Studies & Philosophy Teacher - Mainstream Seconary School - Permanent - Paid to Scale - September start

I am seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Studies and Philosophy Teacher to join our 'Good' Ofsted-rated secondary school in Kingston. The successful candidate will inspire students with engaging lessons, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of religious studies and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Religious Studies and Philosophy lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.

* Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.

* Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.

Student Support:

* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

* Encourage critical thinking and open discussion about religious and philosophical concepts.

* Provide additional support to students who need extra help.

Classroom Management:

* Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment.

* Implement school policies and procedures to manage student behavior effectively.

* Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.

*

Collaboration and Professional Development:

* Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.

* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

* Stay updated with developments in religious studies and philosophy education.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

* Degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, or a related field.

* Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting preferred.

Skills and Attributes:

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to inspire and motivate students.

* Excellent organizational and classroom management skills.
