Mechanical Fitter / Pipe Fitter

Our client NW Total Engineered Solutions is looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Pipe Fitter to join their team.

In this role you will be responsible for assembling/fitting components to construct machinery, mechanical equipment and pipe work systems. Ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards and in line with their customers and clients' regulatory requirements.

Our client Carr's Engineering designs, manufactures, and services bespoke equipment, vessels, precision components and remote handling systems alongside providing specialist engineering services in the Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport, Pharmaceutical and Renewable industries. We have over 120 years of experience and provide industry leading services to their portfolio of long-standing customers.

Hours of Work

40 hours, Mon-Thurs. Overtime available.

Salary

£31-34k per annum, plus enhanced overtime rates

Key responsibilities

* To conduct the mechanical assembly of components to build machinery, pipework, skid packages and steelwork erection.

* To fabricate and install components and pipework using different materials.

* To be able to use a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment.

* To be able to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.

* To have the ability to identify any leaks or malfunctions.

* To ensure quality control by inspecting finished products for accuracy and conformance to specifications.

* Utilise basic maths skills to measure, cut and bend accurately.

* To ensure work is carried out to the highest quality standard.

* To communicate any issues or concerns to the supervisor/chargehand in a timely manner

* To carry out works in line with work instructions, processes and RAMS

* You may be required to perform additional tasks and responsibilities in line with the needs of the business.

What you need for the role

* Experience in mechanical fitting/pipe fitting.

* Proficiency in basic mathematics for measurements and calculations.

* Competence in using power tools, hand tools, measuring equipment.

* Ability to assemble components accurately.

* Mechanical knowledge for equipment assembly.

* A sound understanding of health and safety policies.

* Flexibility is key as occasional extended shifts may be necessary.

* A valid driver's license is essential.

* Security clearance required.
