Company: BIGBLUE SEARCH LTD

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £70000 - £85000/annum + package

The Company

We've partnered with a main contractor that work in the commercial office fit out and refurbishment space, who are closing in on their 25th anniversary. Based just South of the river. They undertake Cat A, Cat A+ and Cat B office fit outs (with some refurbishment elements from time to time) with project values reaching circa £5m.

The Role

This is all about succession planning. Doing recruitment properly. As one of their long-standing employees is coming towards their retirement, this contractor is looking to bring a Project/Contracts Manager on board to effectively fill that space when the time comes. There will be a decent handover/shadowing period in which you will work with the outgoing employee to learn the nuances of working for this particular contractor.

As Project/Contracts Manager, you are going to be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects at any one time. Your involvement will begin at early stages, possibly even meeting with prospective clients with the BD team to understand the viability of the project. Once the project ticks the necessary boxes as a suitable opportunity, you will be working with the precon team to successfully win (if competitively tendered) or come to a an agreement on how to move forward (if negotiated). During this you will have the support of the rest of the team in the office, whether it be Design Managers, Commercial Managers, Estimators, Directors etc.

Putting together construction programmes, methodology, H&S plans, logistics plans etc. you will then take the project to site and oversee the delivery with the help of a Site Manager. The ability to manage multiple projects which will all be at various different stages of the project lifecycle will be crucial here.

Why Work For Them?

* Company Culture -

* Always a difficult one to put down in words as this is something that is only really understood once you've worked there for a while. We've known this company for 5 years now, and you'll find a lot of employees who have been there for 10+. That's usually a pretty good indicator on whether it's a nice place to work or not.

* The office encourages a friendly, collaborative environment. The MD hot desks where he can rather than being locked away in the big shiny corner office, that way he is in and amongst it and also easily accessible if there was ever a question.

* They are all about repeat business. They would rather someone takes their time to do a little research and get the job done properly first time round rather than run in at 100 miles an hour in an attempt to be the first to the gate but get things wrong.

* WFH Policy - A grown up approach is used. Typically you'll find most people attending the office around 3-4 days a week depending on what their diaries are like

* The Salary -

* Circa £70,000 - £85,000 + Package (including matched pension contributions of 5%, daily lunch allowance, private healthcare, travelling expenses)
