We are looking to recruit for a TSS (TEST Support Section) Manager for our established and growing company in South Wales.
The role will be managing a small technical team, the Manager is responsible for the operation of the performance test facility onsite.
Duties:
- Ensuring safe and efficient operation of the TSS test facilities within procedural and regulatory requirements.
- Direct line management of staff including safety and effective work allocation.
- Comprehensive understanding and correct application of relevant UK, EU and global test standards - including - Ventilation Unit and Fan Performance, Noise, Thermal efficiency (e.g. heat exchangers and heat pumps), and Smoke Control.
- Operation, calibration, and maintenance of Test equipment and TSS facility assets.
- Management and output response of the Test Request system.
- Collation, Assessment and Validation of test results.
- Compilation of test results into useful technical data in the appropriate format.
- Provision of detailed technical information relevant to product regulatory compliance.
- Liaison with 3rd party test and research organisations.
- Development of a programme of innovative technical research relating to core ventilation products.
Skills:
Degree level and practical expertise in the following:
- Fluids, air movement and measurement
- Acoustics - measurement and application related.
- Laboratory Instrumentation and control systems.
- Data processing and analysis. (desktop tools and bespoke solutions)
- Also working knowledge of electrical power systems (motors and drives), thermofields, and mechanical design would be advantageous.
- A working knowledge of product related testing - e.g. Electrical Safety, EMC. Is required.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills are required as the role involves liaison with technical specialists within the business and the wider industry.
