Job Description As a Kitchen Porter you will be based in the kitchen helping with general cleaning and prep duties throughout the mid morning and help to serve in the servery at lunch and break times.
As well as having an excellent presentation, organisational and communication skills, you will be able to demonstrate a real passion for food & service and possess bags of enthusiasm.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to join our kitchen team. You will be required to do general cleaning of the kitchen, washing of pots and during service the loading and unloading of plates, glasses and cutlery from the dish washer. There is also opportunity for kitchen work including stores delivery, food preparation and presentation. Location areas include dining room, counter servery, kitchen and receiving yard.
You will continue to perform daily duties for the location, helping with deliveries around the location, cleaning key pieces of equipment in the kitchen.
At all times the kitchen porter will work in an efficient manner, project a helpful and willing attitude to customers and colleagues. And above all be able to work as part of a team. Training will be given on items of dangerous machinery that will be used and also COSHH, Hygiene and Health and safety and monthly training.
Regular hours of work will be 27.5 hours per week start and finish times eg 10.30am – 4.30pm, 36 weeks a year. The rate of pay will be £11.44 per hour. Uniform and a meal will be provided whilst on duty. 28 days holiday will be paid. Overtime might will be required.
