We are supporting a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school in Knotty Ash who have a dedicated Deaf Provision, supporting children who are deaf or have hearing impairments. They are committed to providing a nurturing environment where all children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within their Deaf Provision, supporting deaf and hearing-impaired children across various age groups. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to ensure that each child has access to high-quality education and a positive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting deaf children in class and during other school activities, ensuring their full participation.

* Assisting with the development and delivery of tailored learning plans.

* Using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate with deaf students.

* Encouraging social and emotional development.

* Working alongside teaching staff and specialists, including Speech and Language Therapists and Teachers of the Deaf.

* Providing 1:1 and small group support as required.

Essential Requirements:

* Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.

* Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL)

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff

Desirable:

* Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired children.

* Knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs) frameworks and strategies.

* A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
