Job Title:Centre Assistant
Location: Haringey
Salary / Pay Rate: 315 - £17 Umbrella
Job Type: Contract
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- The Centre Assistant Cleaning and maintaining the Centre, including vacuuming, washing floors, and cleaning toilets and equipment, in line with safe working practices.
- Reporting any health and safety hazards or equipment defects to the Head of Centre.
- Preparing light snacks and assisting with cleaning dishes and kitchen areas.
- Operating washing machines and dryers to clean garments, towels, and other items as required.
- Assisting with the care and activities of children, including setting up and tidying away materials and equipment.
- Supporting children during mealtimes and supervising indoor and outdoor activities under the guidance of Nursery Officers and Teachers.
- Assisting children with toileting, changing soiled clothing, and ensuring their comfort.
- Accompanying groups of children on visits and outings as needed.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Ability to assist with the general care, activities, and comfort of young children.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with parents, colleagues, and children.
- Previous experience in cleaning and maintaining premises.
- Basic food preparation skills for young children.
- Teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations.
