Salary: £40000 - £44000/annum + pension + 10% bonus + holidays

Platform Resourcing are working with a well-established engineering company based in Cardiff who are looking to strengthen their workforce by taking on a new Process Engineer.

The successful candidate will need to be qualified in an Engineering discipline related to Mechanical principles. This must be to at least HNC/HND or degree level. Ideally, they will have strong proven experience of using Lean 8D and 5S practices in a working environment. They will need at least 3-5 years' experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment that produces engineered type products, preferably within assembly and/or CNC machining environments as well as having CI tools experience.

Process Engineer Benefits:

* Salary of up to £44,000 negotiable for the right person + Yearly 10% bonus

* Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm (negotiable hours i.e. 7.30am - 3.30/ 8.30 - 4.30 etc., no weekends)

Process Engineer Duties & Responsibilities:

* Support engineering with design, re-design and development of process equipment

* Work with various cross functional teams to continuously improve and maintain operational processes

* Work closely with engineering and production to ensure that equipment reliability and repeatability is maintained at the optimum level

* To work with component and machine suppliers to eradicate process problems identified by production and maintenance

* Provide training and support to operators and team leaders in the operation of new equipment or processes

* Organise, implement, maintain and improve production process flows

* Drive a continuous improvement culture and Lean manufacturing techniques/ principles throughout the business.

* Investigate customer quality concerns relating to process and transport, using RCA and implementation of 8D methodology to reduce / eliminate repeat concern.

* Identify ways to reduce production costs, project plan changes and implement challenging deadlines.

* Drive change on 7 wastes culture.

* Ability to create FMEA's.

* Preparation of various engineering deliverables such as drawings for manufacture,

* Process Flow diagrams, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, Cause & Effect diagrams, shutdown procedures, TPM documentation.

* Lead meetings as necessary for delivery of organisation and personal objectives.

Process Engineer Essential Experience and Qualifications:

* Qualified in either an Engineering based degree or HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering.

* Proven ability to create process improvement plans that have resulted in cost and waste reduction, increased productivity & output, and overall efficiency.

* At least 3-5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment that produces engineered type products.

* Experience of using Lean methodology and 8D methodology.

* Ability to create and read technical engineering drawings.

* Proven ability to create process improvement plans that have resulted in cost and waste reduction, increased productivity & output, and overall efficiency.

* The individual must have excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills.
