Job Title- Markets Operative
Location- City Hall, BS1 5TR
Duration- 4 months contract
Pay rate- £13.05 + 0.28 per hour
Time- 06:00am to 14.00pm

To provide a range of operational services that ensures the safe and efficient day

to day function of the Markets team.

Key job outcomes/accountabilities

Carry out and range of cleaning, waste disposal and recycling tasks. Operatemechanical cleaning equipment.

Unlock, lock and secure premises and open space sites. Operate buildingsecurity and fire alarm systems.

Provide an on-site security presence to address anti-social behaviour andcrime issues.

Provide information and general assistance to customers, clients andstakeholders.

Set up, move and dismantle market and event equipment. Provide generalporterage services for market traders and event organisers. Operate

mechanical handling equipment.

Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to buildings, infrastructure andequipment.

Operate evacuation and emergency procedures in instance of fire, bomb alertor other potential hazards. Liaise with emergency services.

Although post holders will normally carry out their duties between Monday toSaturday. Saturday working will be required. There will be occasions when the

market is open on Sundays (the Market becomes a 7 day a week operation

from mid-November until Christmas) and evenings and post holders will be

required to work as part of a rota to cover these occasions.

Wear uniform and protective clothing at all times when on duty.
Work in accordance with market trading, event and security legislation.Undertake training to meet these requirements
