Swift Placements are working with an electronics engineering business in Harrogate who are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven track record in the electronics or renewable energy sectors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with clients, and expanding market presence.

The package on offer:

Full time Permanent position

Location: Harrogate

Monday to Friday

40 hours per week

Competitive salary starting from £50,000 (negotiable depending on experience).

There will be some flexibility for hybrid working but there will be an expectation that the role will be primarily office based

Key Responsibilities

* Business Growth Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, focusing on the electronics or renewable energy markets.

* Client Relationship Management: Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while identifying opportunities for new business partnerships.

* Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and convert leads into clients through direct engagement, presentations, and proposals.

* Sales & Revenue Targets: Meet or exceed sales and revenue targets by driving pipeline growth and closing high-value deals.

* Product Knowledge: Maintain a strong technical understanding of the company's products/services and their applications in electronics or renewable energy.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, marketing, and technical teams to align business development efforts with company goals.

* Project Management: Oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

* Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for contracts, pricing, and terms with customers and partners.

* Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with industry stakeholders, including suppliers, partners to support business development efforts.

* Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on business performance, growth opportunities, and market trends.

Key Skills and Experience Required

* Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role in the electronics or renewable energy sector.

* Level 4 or 5 equivalent qualification in Business Development / Account Management or related field.

* Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the electronics or renewable energy industry, including key players, market trends, and regulatory landscape.

* Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets, with a track record of winning new business.

* Strategic Thinking: Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and implement long-term growth strategies.

* Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels.

* Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address client needs effectively.

* Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.

* Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery.

* Commercial Awareness: A good understanding of commercial and contract law, particularly in the context of business agreements.
