Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team at an M&E specialist building services subcontractor. As part of our growing business, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive mechanical estimates for a wide range of projects, from small works to projects valued up to £3 million. The successful candidate will play a key role in estimating costs, preparing bids, and supporting our project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed mechanical estimates for new build, refurbishment, and fit-out projects.

* Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other related documents to accurately determine the scope of work and materials required.

* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather quotes, identify project requirements, and assess any risks or challenges.

* Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

* Present clear and comprehensive cost breakdowns to clients and senior management.

* Manage multiple tenders simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of bids.

* Provide advice on cost-effective solutions and alternative products or materials when required.

* Monitor the cost control process during project execution and contribute to achieving profit margins.

* Attend project meetings, including pre-tender and post-tender reviews, when necessary.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the M&E or building services sector.

* Experience estimating for a range of project types including new build, refurbishment, and fit-out, with values from small works up to £3 million.

* Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

* Solid knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.

* Proficient in MS Office applications.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
