Generator Technician, Ipswich

Monday-Friday - Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Generator Technician to join a busy diesel generator division specialising in the service, maintenance and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment. Our client, a leading multi-disciplined engineering business offer ongoing support, training and development in addition to a varied and team spirited environment within this long-standing, highly regarded business. A full UK driving licence is required due to the nature of the role.

Outline of the role

* Service, maintenance and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment.

* Attend offsite breakdowns.

* Fault finding and diagnosis.

* Load bank testing.

* Provide 24-hour emergency cover on call-out rota (1 week in 5)

* Assist in the installation of diesel generators.

Experience and skills required

* Experience in electrical/mechanical engineering with supporting qualifications.

* Approved electrician (18th edition) - advantageous.

* Knowledge of common generator control systems.

* Adapt to changing workload and be flexible to suit department needs.

* Organised, self-motivated and a team player.

* Basic level of IT proficiency.

* Full UK driving licence.

Experience with installations in an industrial environment will be highly beneficial.

You will be fully supported in the role; you will be provided with a fully expensed company van and phone. In addition, you will be equipped with the latest diagnostic software to provide customers with the highest level of service.
