HSE Manager

A HSE Manager is needed to join a thriving SME in the heavy engineering sector. As a HSE Manager you cover the main site and a recently acquired second site in South Yorkshire. As a HSE Manager, you will join a business with ambitious plans to double its turnover to £40 million. This company offers innovative engineering solutions across diverse industries and is growing quickly. Your role will be to commit to building a strong HSE culture from the ground up, implement systems from scratch and gain accreditation in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. They are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead the charge!

Role Overview:
As the HSE Manager, you will drive health, safety, and environmental improvements in a hands-on, high-risk environment. Reporting to the Operations Director who will support you to change the culture, you'll set up proactive HSE systems, foster a “zero injury” culture, and embed best practices as the company scales. Your role will be critical in establishing compliance and supporting rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities:

* Champion a proactive safety culture, engaging employees at all levels.

* Develop and implement a comprehensive HSE framework.

* Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

* Lead HSE training initiatives to ensure high standards of competency.

* Use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.

* Ensure compliance with regulations, including ISO 45001 certification.

Candidate Profile:

* Minimum of 5 years experience, ideally 10, in HSE management within manufacturing, preferably in heavy engineering.

* Proven track record in leading HSE improvements and fostering a "zero injury" culture, with hands-on experience in driving cultural transformation.

* Skilled in using data to showcase tangible improvements in safety performance.

* NEBOSH General Certificate is essential; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is highly preferred.

* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
