To handle own caseload of Mixed Disease claims. (Meso, Asbestos, NIHL, HAVS)

The caseload will comprise of litigated cases so litigation experience is essential.

The role will include the support of an assistant file handler of which the lead will take responsibility for the supervision and development of this individual, ensuring appropriate strategies are being followed and levels of profitability achieved. The Lead File Handler will need experience of all disease types,

Key Accountabilities

  • Devising a clear and coherent strategy, together with the drafting of initial/ongoing reports
  • Dealing with disclosure
  • Reviewing evidence (including medical / personnel records)
  • Conducting investigations with Insured / obtaining witness statements
  • Instructing Counsel / Experts
  • Research
  • Drafting generally- preparing proceedings where necessary
  • Attending conferences and Trials with Counsel
  • Dealing with routine correspondence
  • Court appointments
  • Providing initial reports and further reports / advice to clients
  • Liaising directly with the Claims Handlers and Managers
  • Complying with Clients instructions
  • Willing to engage in Client development when required
  • Assisting team in achieving goals and objectives
  • Meeting agreed targets
  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
  • Adhere to the Keoghs Values

Working Hours

35 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location for this role is Parklands, Bolton Office
