Our client are a growing civil engineering contractor based in Bristol, specialising in delivering high-quality infrastructure, groundworks, and construction projects. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys contributing to a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Cost Management: Prepare, manage, and report on project budgets, ensuring financial control and profitability across all stages of the project lifecycle.

* Tendering and Procurement: Prepare and analyse costings for tenders, and assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and materials.

* Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, identify and manage risks, and issue notices as required.

* Valuations and Variations: Conduct accurate valuations for completed work, prepare and negotiate variations, and submit interim and final accounts.

* Project Support: Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

* Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports, forecasts, and risk assessments to senior management.

* Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.

Experience:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil engineering or construction sector.

* Experience with small to medium-sized projects is preferred.

* Qualifications:

* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

* Membership of a professional body such as RICS or ICES is advantageous but not essential.

Skills:

* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC and JCT.

* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

* Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, or similar tools).

* Effective communication and negotiation skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
