Salary: £14.50 - £14.60/hour

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated UQ Support Worker to join our team at a home-based setting in Surbiton, London. You will be providing care and support to young people who require assistance with day-to-day living. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping these young individuals develop the skills they need to become more independent, offering guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide practical and emotional support to young people who are not yet independent in areas such as personal care, education, social interaction, and life skills.

* Help with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

* Support young people with their physical and emotional well-being, ensuring they feel supported and understood.

* Assist with planning and attending appointments, educational activities, and social events.

* Promote a positive and nurturing environment where young people feel safe and encouraged to grow.

* Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and other support professionals, to develop and implement personalized care plans.

* Monitor and report on the progress of the young people in your care, documenting and sharing relevant information with senior staff.

Requirements:

* Enhanced DBS check with online update service (must be up to date).

* Previous experience supporting young people with additional needs or learning disabilities.

* A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them to reach their full potential.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

* Flexibility, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

* Experience with behaviour management strategies and a clear understanding of safeguarding protocols is desirable.

* A relevant qualification in health and social care, youth work, or similar is preferred but not essential.
