Hours:                  40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Company Overview:

VMS (Fleet Management) Ltd is part of the fast growing VMS Automotive Group offering a range of services comprising of Contract Hire & Fleet Management, Accident Management as well as offering Maintenance Services from our inhouse workshops and a leading provider of transport refrigeration systems, air conditioning solutions and converting panel vans into commercial, refrigerated vehicles.  VMS Automotive operate nationwide with workshops and vehicle hire sites throughout the UK with our Head Office based in Stevenage and our Operations centre based in Bury St Edmunds.

As part of our continued growth, we are now looking to appoint a Compliance Manager to oversee and develop the compliance department and assume overall responsibility for all aspects of over 6000 vehicles on contract hire and daily rental across all vehicle sectors. 

The Role:

  • Manage and develop a dedicated team
  • Oversee compliance planning for Servicing, MOT’s, PMI’s, Loler, Refrigeration etc
  • Ensure all vehicles are service & maintained in accordance with manufacturers requirements
  • Manage internal & external software systems for document storage
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other teams within VMS Management.
  • Ensure downtime is kept to a minimum with pro-active planning
  • Reporting directly to line Director on status of fleet

The ideal candidate should be:

  • A team player
  • Have excellent IT skills
  • Have excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent vehicle engineering knowledge incorporating LCV / HGV experience
  • Demonstrate a track record in managing vehicle compliance
  • Have extensive knowledge of LCV /HGV compliance
  • City and Guilds or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of IRTE.
  • Member of the Engineering Council
  • Hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
