Job title: Quantity Surveyor

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is looking for the next step in your career? This is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking Tier 1 contractor who has a turnover of over £500m and specialise in high rise residential developments, student accommodation and large scale infrastructure with projects valued in excess of £150m.

They have delivered some of the most exciting developments across the North West and due to their success and growth they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Manchester.

The role - Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be a key part of the team and will be reporting into the Senior QS and Commercial Manager on a large £40m high rise development in the city centre which consists of 18 stories, commercial units and a sub-basement car park. You will be responsible for the following duties:

Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client
Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement.
Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
Advice when required on cost management, or value management.
Maintaining quality control procedures.
Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
Ensure cash flow is maximized.
