Hours - Full time (8:30am - 3:30pm)

Salary - £85 - £100 per day

Location - Bournemouth

About the school:
This SEN school, based in Bournemouth, pride themselves on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for students with special educational needs. The schools curriculum is designed around four key areas: Core, Character & Culture, and Careers. The school aims to empower our students academically, socially, and personally to prepare them for a successful future.

The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant within our secondary SEN setting, you will play a vital role in supporting students with ASD in their learning and personal development. You will work closely with teachers to deliver effective interventions and facilitate valuable learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group support to students during lessons, helping to promote their understanding and engagement with the core curriculum (Maths and English).
Foster personal and social development by implementing programs and strategies that enhance students' life skills and confidence.
Assist in planning and delivering PSD (Personal and Social Development) opportunities and interventions tailored to individual student needs.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Actively contribute to the wider school community by supporting extracurricular activities and community-based learning experiences.
Help students develop essential skills that will prepare them for future career pathways, ensuring career education is interwoven throughout their school experience.
What We Are Looking For:

A strong commitment to supporting students with ASD and a genuine desire to improve their educational outcomes.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Experience working in a secondary education setting, particularly with students with special educational needs.
Knowledge of ASD and effective strategies for supporting learners is highly desirable.
A proactive, flexible, and empathetic approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 2/3 or equivalent) are advantageous.
