Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 (KS1) team. This full-time role will involve supporting a diverse range of pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that every child receives the attention and support they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEN.
  • Work with small groups or one-on-one with pupils to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to record-keeping.
  • Assist with classroom management and organisation, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Participate in planning and preparation of classroom activities and resources.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on pupil progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly within KS1.
  • Understanding of SEN and strategies to support children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and safeguarding practices.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
