The role
The Dedicated Nurse Advisor Clinical Lead for the Enteral feeding device service educates patients and families about enteral feeding devices and trains healthcare professionals in their proper usage. They organize training for referrers and nursing home staff, contribute to clinical standards, collaborate with team members to improve service quality, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and professional conduct codes.
Responsibilities:
- To act as a dedicated Clinical Lead for an Enteral Feeding Device service.
- To educate patients (and their families / carers, PHN's) on their enteral feeding device in the clinical and home environment, helping keep patients cared for in the comfort of their homes.
- To develop relationships with and assist in training of Health Care Professionals on enteral feeding devices when required.
- Supporting the hospitals with feedback on the service from their patients to achieve better healthcare outcomes and enhanced patient care.
- To participate, plan and implement training study days on behalf of hospital referrers, nursing homes and other institutions where enteral devices are in use.
- To take an active role in development and delivery of clinical standards, helping to ensure standards are implemented throughout the greater nursing team.
- To maintain clinical knowledge and keep up to date with changes in clinical practice within the area of Enteral feeding.
- To be a resource and provide training for new and experienced Point of Care Nurse Advisors.
- To participate in team meetings within the Point of Care management team and the Client as & when required.
- Identifying and delivering any proposed service improvements as agreed from time to time in agreement with Point of Care and the Client.
- Maintain a high level of professional standard by strictly adhering to An Bord Altranais Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
- Carrying out duties in line with all regulatory, nursing and industry standards e.g. IPHA code of Practice.
- The designated areas of travel shall be such areas in the Republic of Ireland as Point of Care and the Client shall from time to time agree.
- Requirement for national and international travel to attend study days/seminars/conferences as and when required.
- Promoting and educating HCPs on the end-to-end service offering to include education on the referral process and the provision of HCP and/or Patient support materials.
- Flexibility to facilitate the needs of HCP's, e.g. attendance at Breakfast Meetings, etc., as required.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Prepare & submit daily, weekly, monthly and/or quarterly reports for internal and/or external use as required.
- Accurately report details of any Adverse Events, Product Complaints and/or Clinical Incidents as per company policy & within specified timelines.
- Acknowledge & understand when escalation is required.
- Perform any other duties as required based on company needs.

As we are a global team, there is flexibility to be based in one of Uniphar's offices or work from home. There may be a need for face to face meetings in other locations, as needed. There may also some flexibility required in order to interact with colleagues or clients in their time zones (i.e. it's not a '9 to 5' type of job).
