Salary: £65000/annum cips qualification mandatory

This permanent role is essential in developing and leading a new corporate category team for Professional Services, including HR, Finance, Marketing, and ICT. This is a strategic position vital in steering the direction of the organisation's procurement policies and ensuring compliance with public sector contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and lead a new corporate category team for Professional Services, including HR, Finance, Marketing, and IT
Implement a category-led approach, transitioning current routes to market for efficiency and effectiveness
Foster close relationships with the market to understand supplier capabilities and innovative contract delivery options
Develop a comprehensive commercial category strategy and policy, ensuring alignment with current legislation
Manage and mentor a team of approximately four direct reports, ensuring alignment with other category teams
Conduct regular business and market analysis to inform future category plans
Develop and implement new KPIs for contract management in line with Government Commercial Framework
Represent the organisation in all aspects of public sector procurement and associated commercial issues

Job Requirements:

Experience in strategic procurement project and programme management within the public sector
Fully qualified CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent experience
Understanding of Public Procurement Regulations (2015 and 2023)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
Proficiency in mentoring and developing team members
Experience in defining and leading commercial policy, procedures, and processes
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to develop new processes and techniques
Strong communication and negotiation skills to influence and drive stakeholder engagement
