We are seeking an experienced 2nd Line IT Network Engineer to join a dynamic IT team within a leading hospital based in Central London. This is a fully on-site role that requires a hands-on professional with a passion for technology and delivering exceptional support to staff in a healthcare environment.
Job Purpose The hospital’s IT department plays a crucial role in supporting medical professionals and ensuring smooth daily operations. As a 2nd Line IT Network Engineer, you will be the go-to escalation point for technical issues, working on troubleshooting, system maintenance, and enhancing the hospital’s IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: - Technical Support and Troubleshooting:Provide 2nd line support to hospital staff, diagnosing and resolving networking, server, and desktop system issues.
- Infrastructure Management:Maintain and configure Cisco networking equipment, and ensure backups are properly managed.
- Microsoft 365 and Cloud Services:Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint) and provide support for cloud services like Azure.
- Virtualization and Remote Access:Manage VMware and Citrix environments, and troubleshoot remote access issues.
- Continuous Learning:Stay up-to-date with healthcare IT trends, pursue certifications, and collaborate with team members to develop skills.
Required Experience: - Minimum 2 years in a 2nd line IT support role.
- Strong Cisco networking and Windows server administration experience.
- Solid troubleshooting skills for Windows desktop systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy healthcare setting.
Desirable: - Cisco CCNA or CCNP.
- Microsoft, VMware, or Citrix certifications.
