Data Centre Shift Technician (Maintenance) - £50k-£52k - Continental Shift - Onsite Parking

A great opportunity for a Shift Technician to join a critical environment, working on a continental shift pattern (days & nights, 6:30am - 6:30pm).

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Shift Technician with a background in data centres, hospitals, banking, or critical commercial office environments. Candidates must have previous critical environment experience.

* HVAP certification is preferred, but training will be provided if needed.

* Competitive salary of £50,000 - £52,000 with onsite parking.

Duties & Responsibilities

* PPM and reactive maintenance of all electrical and mechanical systems within a critical environment.

* HV & LV system maintenance, including switching operations (if HVAP).

* UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) maintenance, battery inspections, and fault diagnostics.

* Generator testing and servicing to ensure backup power availability.

* Cooling towers, CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) & CRAH (Computer Room Air Handling) unit maintenance.

* BMS system monitoring, making adjustments to optimise performance.

* Power distribution maintenance, ensuring stable and secure electrical supply.

* Emergency lighting and small power systems maintenance and testing.

* Thermal imaging and condition-based monitoring to prevent failures.

* Fault finding and repair on critical equipment, minimising downtime.

* Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience

* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

* NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering

* Previous critical environment experience (data centre, hospital, banking, or similar)

* HVAP status preferred, but training will be provided if not already held
