An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a Data Protection Officer to join a Local Authority in the Northwest.

Duties:

• Provide strategic data protection leadership for the council in order to ensure compliance with data protection legislation
• Manage the Information Governance and Data Protection teams at the council
• Act as the single point of contact for the Council with UK Regulators
• Act as a point of contact for sector specific Regulators
• Lead on seeking assurance of compliance with data protection legislation
• Lead and manage the investigation of personal data breaches, or other breach of the legislation

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the statutory Data Protection position of a public sector organisation and/or management experience. 

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months initially, with scope to extend

Working Arrangement: Full-time; Fully remote

Rate: Dependant on experience; Umbrella
