Position: CNC Operative
Salary: £14ph
Location: Barnsley area
Role: Permanent position - 6am - 14:30 with rota nights 16:00 - 02:30. First 8-12 weeks regular days
We are currently assisting with the recruitment of CNC Operators for a long-standing client of ours in the Barnsley area. This will be a permanent position and the candidate will be joining a close nit team working on the fabrication of metals following specifications.
The CNC Operator will need experience on:
* CNC press brake,
* CNC laser,
* CNC punch.
This role offers opportunities for advancement into CNC programming and other technical skills through on-the-job training.
Main Duties for the CNC Operative:
* Operate CNC press brake, laser cutter, and punch machines safely and efficiently in line with company policies and procedure.
* Be able to read engineering drawings and specifications
* Perform set-up and calibrate machines to ensure optimal operation.
* Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to uphold machine performance and product quality.
* Monitor machine performance, including tool wear and quality control, and make necessary adjustments
* Familiarity with machine programming and setting up - desirable.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues.
* Excellent attention to detail and quality consciousness to ensure precision fabrication.
* Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the fabrication of metal components, is preferred.
Advanced experience in operating at least one of the following machines:
* Press brake,
* CNC laser,
* CNC punch.
