Role Overview: As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in our engineering department, collaborating closely with production to ensure all machinery is compliant and in optimal working order.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborative Maintenance: Work alongside shop floor management to prioritize repairs and schedule essential and planned maintenance of all machines.

* Performance Monitoring: Regularly liaise with the Engineering Manager to discuss machine performance, plan repairs, and coordinate new plant and machinery installations.

* Quality Assurance: Partner with the quality department to address machine performance issues and uphold our high-quality standards.

* Efficiency Initiatives: Actively promote the reduction of scrap and enhance the efficiency of our Conversion and Extrusion sections.

* Process Development: Be proactive in developing new processes and procedures to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality across all aspects of product manufacturing and supply.

* Continuous Improvement: Support the embedding of continuous improvement initiatives within all areas of the business.

External Responsibilities:

* Supplier Relations: Maintain close working relationships and effective communication with all machinery and spare parts suppliers to maximize support levels.

Internal Operational Responsibilities:

* Accurate Documentation: Keep detailed records of breakdowns and downtimes on maintenance logs.

* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures in line with legal requirements and company policy at all times.

* Training & Development: Advise and train relevant personnel in new processes and procedures.

* 5S and Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.

Skills & Attributes: You will have the ability to work well under pressure and will present with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are also looking for strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset in our ideal candidate.

Desirable Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent)

18th Edition electrical installations certification (preferred)

Proven work experience as a maintenance engineer.

Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

Ability to read system schematics.

Advanced troubleshooting skills.

Understanding of safety and equipment procedures.
