Are you looking for a Finance Role within an Organisation that is at the heart of helping people to thrive? If so, this role may be for you. Since 1974, as a Registered Provider of Social Housing and Supported Accommodation we have been supporting those in need.   

We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team at our Stoke on Trent Head Office. You will play a key role in delivering financial the usual information to enable us to make effective decisions and ensuring our Finance procedures operate in line with our statutory obligations.

Some of your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets, monthly and annual Management and Statutory Accounts including month and year end and audit
  • Managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger and all associated processed including generating payments, reconciliation and reporting, raising invoices, allocating payments and chasing outstanding debts including rent payments from tenants
  • Managing stock accounting and resolving any issues
  • Deputising for the Finance Lead as appropriate
  • Developing appropriate Financial controls to manage risks and continuously looking for opportunities to use technology to automate and simplify accounting procedures
  • Ensuring all Finance Team processes comply with the relevant regulations and adhere to Brighter Futures Financial protocols and controls
  • Preparing Monthly Bank reconciliations
  • Supporting the completion of funding and other grant applications
  • Maintaining accurate records for all awarded funds  and ensure these are supported by a contract, SLA or management agreement
  • Managing contract compliance with funder requirements and ensuring all contracts are logged and managed in line with our standard procedures

What You will need:

  • ACCA or ICMA qualified (or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of competence)
  • Previous experience as a Finance Business Partner and even better if you have experience within social housing
  • Experienced in managing a finance function including sales and purchase ledger
  • Experienced in the preparation of financial statements, audit files, management information and both management and statutory accounts
  • Numerate with an obsessive attention to detail and able to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Able to provide insight into our operations through your knowledge of our financial position and present these to our management team to enable us to better serve our community
