Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience)
 
Purpose of the Role  
 
My client is seeking a Management Accountant to join their team at the Portsmouth Depot. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of management accounts, supporting the delivery of effective business partnering with commercial managers. This role includes producing monthly reports, budgets, and working closely with various stakeholders to ensure risks and performance issues are communicated effectively.
 
Main Responsibilities  
 
The Management Accountant will:
- Identify opportunities for improvement in financial systems and ensure financial protocols are adhered to.
- Manage, control, and allocate workloads within the finance and admin teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely allocation of costs to contracts and departments, following company governance.
- Oversee sales invoicing and purchase ledger processing, ensuring timely completion.
 
Candidate Profile  
 
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified Accountant or have a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction or contracting sector.
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with managers at all levels.
- Have strong knowledge of accounting and reporting systems, as well as the applicable legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Be a self-starter who can quickly integrate and support the team.
