Are you passionate about supporting children with challenging behavior, severe learning difficulties, and disabilities? Do you have the skills and dedication to make a positive impact on students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges? We are looking for a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join an inspiring special school in Liverpool (L8) on a full-time, long-term basis.

What You'll Be Doing:

Provide 1-1 and small group support for students with severe learning difficulties and disabilities
Help manage challenging behaviors in a calm, constructive, and supportive manner
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning plans
Support students' emotional well-being, fostering resilience and social skills
Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all

Key Qualities of a Great SEND Teaching Assistant:

Patience and empathy: You'll need a calm, compassionate approach when working with students facing significant challenges.
Resilience: Supporting students with challenging behavior requires strength, determination, and a positive attitude.
Flexibility and adaptability: You'll need to be able to adjust your approach to suit the needs of individual students.
Teamwork: Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff is crucial to delivering the best outcomes for students.
Experience in SEND or SEMH settings is a big plus, but a genuine passion for helping students succeed is just as important.
