The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Care Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a diverse range of needs, including:

Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Non-verbal communication needsThis role is pivotal in providing tailored support to facilitate their educational journey and enhance their overall well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

Personal Care: Assisting pupils with personal care tasks, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
Individual Support: Implementing individualised learning and care plans, tailored to each pupil's specific needs and abilities.
Communication Support: Supporting non-verbal communication methods, such as using sign language, communication boards, and other assistive technologies.
Classroom Assistance: Working closely with teachers to support pupils in classroom activities, ensuring they can engage and participate fully.
Behavioural Support: Managing and supporting positive behaviour in line with school policies, creating a safe and nurturing environment.
Social Development: Encouraging and enabling pupils to engage in social interactions and develop interpersonal skills.
Collaboration: Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create an inclusive and effective learning environment.
Monitoring Progress: Observing and recording pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents, and adjusting support strategies as needed.
Safety and Well-being: Ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Requirements:

DBS: Must have an active DBS on the update service
Experience: Minimum of 6 months experience working with SEN pupils
Availability: Full-time, term-time only
Skills: Patience, empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
