Mechanical Technician  

£35,000 - £50,000 + Unlimited overtime

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join an industry leading engineering business near South Benfleet, Essex. Our client provides first class mechanical maintenance services to the Power Generation and Petrochemical sectors throughout the Essex region. 

The Mechanical Technician will be a varied role, being responsible for workshop and onsite repairs, servicing and overhauls of industrial mechanical assets such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, valves and turbines.

As the Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for: 

On site and workshop-based maintenance on work on a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, valve sand turbines etc. 
On site and in house maintenance testing of valves, pipework etc 
When required assist and lead planned project and outages as directed by managers 
Workshop based but traveling to client sites in Essex within small teams providing excellent customer service 
Acting as the face of the company dealing with clients on site
To be considered for this role you should have: 

A relevant engineering qualification at level 3 or above
At least 2 years experience working in an engineering role within a heavy process environment 
Experience carrying out maintenance and repair work on at least one industrial pieces of equipment e.g. pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors and other rotating machinery 
Candidates with an armed forces background will also be encouraged to apply
Good communication skills and able to deal customers on site 
A good understanding of all HSE aspects  
This role comes with a competitive basic salary depending on experience. There is also a bonus, unlimited overtime, private medical and pension available.
