Woodstock recruitment are recruiting for a Development chemist for a leading manufacturer of speciality chemicals that supply into a wide range of industries.

Are you experienced in formulating surfactants, emulsions or have a keen interest in colloid chemistry?

Do you perhaps have experience of formulating witin the homecare, cosmetics or cleaning chemical industry?

Based at their Cheshire site, the development chemist will help develop their future products and processes....

The role

* Lead the formulation of new and existing products, testing methodology development and scale up activities.

* Work with partners/suppliers to scope new technologies

* Deliver against commercial briefs ensuring adherence to costings, timings and regulatory compliance

* Lead NPD projects working closely with commercial, quality and production teams

* Utilise technical literature/intellectual property to help shape NPD pipeline

* Support resolution of quality/formulation/product issues

* Develop understanding of regulatory environment of our products/applications and ensure development activities are compliant

* Provide technical support to commercial colleagues and customers

* Identify new technical/RM partners to deliver against company ambition on sustainable product solutions, value engineering and innovation delivery

* Preparation and organisation of laboratory research and field trial data for the generation of internal reports, external communications, technical data sheets and intellectual property

The requirements

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry

* Circa 3 to 5 years experience in formulation of new products in the speciality chemicals sector

* Experience in formulating with surfactant chemistries and emulsions

* Demonstratable experience of working effectively without supervision and delivering against tight timelines

* Knowledge/awareness of the chemical regulations arena

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

* Experience of working directly with customers to deliver technical solutions and support new product implementation
