We have an exciting, new position, for individuals with a desire to work as part of a Pastoral Team within a specialist school environment with students who have Autism and / or Complex Needs.

We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Behaviour Specialist to join our school, supporting pupils with complex Autism, Sensory, Communication and Behavioural needs.

Some of our pupils struggle with their emotional regulation and communication. As a result, behaviour can be challenging at times, therefore we are looking for a Behaviour Specialist with experience in managing challenging behaviour in a school environment, someone who is resilient and committed to making a real difference for our students through patience, understanding and a consistent approach.

As a Behaviour Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

Undertaking Functional Behaviour Assessments
Creating and implementing robust, individualized Positive Behaviour Support Plans
Liaising with families and providing support
Safeguarding
Implementing complementary therapies as well as having cross over with the in-house therapy team of Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy
Work with the class team
Train staff in implementing the Behaviour Support Plan
Create reports, analysing whole school behaviour and contributing to whole school policies

Person Specification – Behaviour Specialist:

Behaviour Specialist
MUST have experience working with Autism and challenging behaviour within SEN Education
Prior experience working with children with Autism
Be resilient, flexible and committed
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Have energy and enthusiasm
