Psychology Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic graduate to join our team as a Part-Time Teacher of Psychology. The successful candidate may be a recently qualified teacher or one with more experience, capable of teaching psychology to pupils in the Lower and Upper Sixth Form. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a new and growing academic department and to develop a love of psychology in our pupils.

Day to Day of the Role
  • Teach psychology to Lower and Upper Sixth Form students, ensuring a dynamic and creative teaching style.
  • Create a well-ordered teaching environment where pupils can explore their academic potential.
  • Plan lessons clearly within the departmental scheme of work.
  • Mark work regularly and promptly, keeping clear records of pupils’ progress.
  • Maintain high levels of behaviour and respect in the classroom.
  • Stay current in the subject of psychology and contribute to the pastoral care of pupils.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities, including weekly duties in houses.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Good honours degree in Psychology or a related subject.
  • Ability to teach Psychology to A Level.
  • Excellent teaching skills and the capacity to be efficient, organized, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage pupils.
  • Commitment to supporting the ethos of the school.
  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification is desirable.
  • Experience as a tutor/form teacher is desirable.
