I am currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's MGA who are seeking a Senior Development Underwriter to join their growing team.

My client is looking to expand in the West Midlands area and needs someone with 10+ years Underwriting experience in the commercial combined space which is their main product. My client is looking for someone who has strong broker connections in the West Midlands area with a strong technical background in Underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate collaboratively with key brokers in the region and build positive relationships to increase the flow of new business activity.
  • Reviewing and underwriting of new business quotations across all products within our underwriting appetite including any queries within the SLAs of the business.
  • Undertake Broker Visits and Underwriting Surgeries at Broker offices to increase brand awareness and establish contacts.
  • Be the main escalation point for Key Brokers.
  • Liaise and establish good working relations with the Technical Underwriting Team and key stakeholders.
  • Regular communication with the Business Development Managers and Regional Directors to develop and maintain broker relationships and strategic planning.
  • Play an integral role within the Region in terms of setting standards and driving good culture. Work closely with the Regional Director to create a team environment with a clear vision of growing the region, maintaining the core values.
  • Act as a referral point for underwriters within the wider team.
  • Work closely and effectively with the underwriting team to ensure that all work is completed within SLA's and maintain broker relationships by offering a high level of customer service.
  • Take a lead role in hospitality and enhancing the reputation of the Region and Eaton Gate as a whole
  • Take initiative, within the context of the role, to improve work processes and promote overall corporate goals.
  • Home Based with occasional visits to London Office when necessary.
