We are excited to be supporting the real assets division of a global investment manager to secure an experienced property accountant. the firm focuses on investments into a range of sectors such as Logistics, Industrial, Residential, Office Space and Life Sciences with c.$30bn AUM.
This newly created role has arisen due to the continued growth of the UK portfolio and will take ownership of the financial control and reporting for a cluster of properties in the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities,
- Review of tenant invoices raised by the Accounts Receivable team on the MRI accounting system.
- Reviewing the AR report in conjunction with the UK property managers and our internal accounts receivable team on a weekly basis to ensure that debts are being paid.
- Approving UK/Holdco property/company related invoices on our Nexus invoice approval system.
- Reviewing the AP report on at least a monthly basis to ensure that it remains clean and that any credit items are followed up (supported by our internal Accounts Payable team).
- Ensuring UK/Holdco bank reconciliations are signed off on a monthly basis within five working days of month end (in conjunction with booking support from our cash management team).
- To book the UK acquisition funds flows into the MRI accounting system.
- Preparation of quarterly reporting including accruals and prepayments for UK properties.
- Performing monthly closing and quarterly preparation tasks in order to ensure a quick close at quarter end.
- Working with advisors to ensure Financial Statements and tax returns are submitted on time. Ensuring progress is tracked clearly and final outputs are recorded on the system.
- To review the cash balances of the UK/Holdco entities, recommending and facilitating quarterly interest payments and dividends while considering working capital and capex requirements.
- To resolve queries/issues on the UK/Holdco portfolio, for example working closely with teams such as the debt team and the development team in order to do so.
- To respond to audit queries on the UK/Holdco jurisdiction.
- To train and coach junior staff to ensure accuracy of booking and minimal errors.

Required Experience,
- Experienced property accountant with at least 3 years accounting experience.
- Accounting qualification desired but not essential
- Experienced in the use of IT systems and excel (MRI experience a plus).
- Able to communicate and work effectively with people with a wide variety of skill sets and of all levels of seniority. Interpersonal skills are key.
- Must be a dynamic, focused individual who can adjust to working in a highly entrepreneurial but professional environment.
- Well organized. Excellent attention to detail paramount and ability to work under time pressure.
- Understanding of the commercial aspects of Real Estate and how that ties into finance - awareness of capex/development monitoring, property manager functions, Real Estate debt, tax etc.
