Planning Manager

Our client is seeking a dedicated Planning Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team in operations planning and scheduling. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in production planning and master scheduling, along with strong leadership skills and a background in engineering and manufacturing.

Responsibilities for Planning Manager 

- Lead and develop the planning team to achieve high performance levels
- Deliver operations plans and schedules from start to finish 
- Collaborate with various departments including manufacturing, engineering, and sales 
- Ensure capacity and capability planning 
- Oversee production of finished goods and sales orders 
- Conduct resource planning, materials estimating, and forecasting 
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and health and safety standards 
- Provide leadership and development opportunities for the team through coaching and motivation 
- Utilise planning tools such as MRP and ERP to process tasks 
- Generate accurate reports and conduct root cause analysis 
- Monitor progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders 
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail 

Qualifications and experience as Planning Manager

- Previous extensive experience in production planning and master scheduling 
- Background in engineering and manufacturing 
- Knowledge and experience using ERP/MRP systems 
- Strong time management and prioritization skills 
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities 

Day-to-day as Planning Manager 

- Develop and implement operations plans and schedules 
- Collaborate with multifunctional departments across the business
- Oversee production and resource planning processes
- Provide leadership and development opportunities for the team
- Utilize planning tools to process tasks and generate reports
- Monitor progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders
