Our client is seeking a QA Manager to join their team based in Cape Town, to ensure that incoming materials used in their operations and all outgoing product supplied to their customers meet our client's internal quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operation of the quality assurance department.

  • Ensure that all inhouse product is quality tested and that records of this testing is maintained.

  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conforming product to establish root cause.

  • Ensure that incoming critical raw materials and buy-out products are tested.

  • Ensure that measuring equipment within the department and in operations has been validated / calibrated.

  • At all times to work safely to the business standards.

  • Ensure that department housekeeping standards are maintained.

  • Ensure that all inhouse manufactured product, Incoming critical raw materials and buy-out- products are tested against quality standards.

  • Ensure that quality records are maintained up to date, complete and accurate.

  • Ensure that product specifications are maintained up to date and centred.

  • Identify and negative quality trends i.e. high recurring non-conforming product (NCP) / complaints.

  • Ensure that non-conforming product are identified, and that they are investigate to establish root cause. Report daily, NCP to R&D Director. Maintain NCP log updated daily.

  • Ensure that customer complaints (IA, C&C) are investigated to establish root cause. Maintain a daily log. 24 hour response for all IA complaint. Keep records of all IA complaints (folder for each complaint).

  • Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions for NCP and complaints.

  • Quarantine non-conforming or faulty stock, and issue product recalls when necessary.

  • Monthly reporting : NCP, IA & construction complaints logs, BOM changes, QA report.

  • Manage time and attendance records of assistants and process leave applications.

  • Ensure that the quality team has tools and equipment necessary to perform their tasks efficiently.

  • Ensure that the QA measuring equipment is validated and the records are maintained per schedule.

  • Ensure that the measuring equipment in Ops is validated and that records are maintained per schedule.

  • Ensure that test methods and other relevant quality work instructions are adhered to by the quality team.
