We're recruiting on behalf of a business in the Sheffield area that are looking to increase their engineering team with a mechanical fitter. This business have grown year on year and have invested heavily in their manufacturing facility and have ambitious plans to replicate this.

This role is working a 40 hour week on days with a salary of £35,000 to begin then rising to £41,000 after probabation.

Responsibilities

* Reactive and proactive maintenance activities

* Working on a variety of heavy machinery

* Understand electrical systems and diagnose problems/plant faults constructively and accurately.

* Take part in the development, creation and implementation of PPM schedules

* Record daily activities and creation of work orders within the site CMMS,

* Attend and contribute towards daily and weekly planned maintenance meetings

* Identify/specify and order critical parts

Qualificatios

* A relevant vocational qualification e.g. NVQ,ONC, HNC, HND, C&G or an appropriate apprenticeship.

* Experience within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment, although applicants from other industries would also be considered.

* Some mechanical experience/qualification or the willingness to undertake mechanical cross skilling training.

* Good fault finding and problem-solving skills essential - electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.

* Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.

* PC literate.

* Ability to work within a team and share knowledge.
