Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Start Date: Monday, 21st OctoberSchool: Northwood Community Primary School, KirkbyContract: Full-time, term-time only

The Role:We are seeking an empathetic and resourceful Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students requiring additional support. The successful candidate will support children with SEN in all aspects of their learning, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing tailored support to meet the students' individual needs, including learning and behavioural assistance.
• Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Monitoring and recording the children's progress and feeding back to relevant staff and parents.
• Promoting social inclusion and helping students develop essential social and communication skills.

Person Specification:

• Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), ideally in a Key Stage 1 setting.
• Patience, adaptability, and a caring approach to working with children.
• Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or SEN support are desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
