George Baker is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our growing team. This role will provide valuable experience in a fast-paced environment, supporting various financial operations within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Invoicing:

  • Assist in the processing and issuance of invoices to customers, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and company procedures.
  • Support the management of invoicing for self-billing customers.
  • Assist in the collection and organisation of Proof of Delivery (POD) and other relevant documentation for invoices.
  • Assist with the tracking and management of customer Purchase Order (PO) numbers.
  • Provide basic support in resolving customer invoice-related queries.

Purchase Invoice Processing:

  • Assist in the processing and verification of vendor invoices.
  • Assist in resolving basic discrepancies related to purchase invoices.

Fleet Cost Support:

  • Assist in the collection and organisation of data related to fleet costs.
  • Provide basic support in the validation of fleet costs against contracts and agreements.

General Finance Support:

  • Assist with general finance administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and report preparation.
  • Support other members of the finance team as needed.

You’ll need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role essential
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., accounting software, Excel)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to analyse financial data and identify trends
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills to maintain accurate records
