The opportunity
Our client is currently seeking an experienced UK Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional to oversee all UK offices, projects, and proposals. This crucial role will drive HSE excellence, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 & 45001 requirements while promoting a culture where safety is a top priority.

Your duties and Responsibilities will be
Act as the focal point for HSE operational matters across projects and proposals.
Implement and maintain a strong compliance culture, adhering to global standards and regulatory requirements.
Design, implement, and coordinate HSE management systems for UK projects and proposals.
Provide technical support to Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Legal, Procurement, and Management teams.
Conduct HSE assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with UK laws and project-specific HSE plans.
Lead incident investigations, conduct root-cause analyses, and drive corrective actions.
Define and monitor HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across projects.
Engage with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and external partners to stay ahead of emerging trends and best practices.
Develop essential project documents, including HSE management plans, site manuals, and emergency response plans.
Assess HSE performance of suppliers and subcontractors at both prequalification and execution stages.
Participate in project workshops such as HAZID and ENVID.
Promote corporate ESG initiatives, including training and volunteering.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree educated (or equivalent) in HSE
Extensive experience in construction site HSE management, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Energy sectors.
Comprehensive knowledge of UK HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and support organisational progression in HSE.
Excellent communication and analytical skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
Thorough understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working in an office. These can include display screen equipment, stress, manual handling, slips, trips and falls, fire and emergency, work equipment and electrical safety and temperature. A full induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the building.
