Our esteemed client, a leading accountancy practice, is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Clerk to join their progressive team on a full-time, permanent basis. Part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.

This multifaceted role offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to manage the practice's payroll function while supporting business growth. The successful candidate will also provide essential bookkeeping services, contributing to the firm's comprehensive financial offerings.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to a thriving accountancy practice while further developing their expertise in payroll and bookkeeping.

The responsibilities:

  • Execute weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls, including Pension Auto Enrolment, and submit data to HMRC.
  • Establish new payroll clients and drive departmental growth.
  • Prepare quarterly payroll invoices.
  • Manage HMRC payroll correspondence.
  • Perform client bookkeeping tasks as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering procedures.

The candidate:

  • Proven track record in a practice-based payroll role.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Expertise in Sage payroll software, accounting applications, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong technical aptitude and capacity to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
