Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: MPS/UPS: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum
Start Date: Immediately/September 2024
Contract Type: 0.4 FTE

GSL Education are currently looking for a qualified ICT and Computer Science Teacher who can be innovative and inspire students aged 11 to 16, to achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will work as an ICT Teacher at a Client Secondary School located approximately 18 miles north of York. The position is to start immediately or from September 2024.

About The School:

The school is a comprehensive secondary school with students aged 11-16, judged to be “Good” by Ofsted in quality of education and personal development this year.
They have students from over 35 primary schools, which contributes to the friendly and diverse environment at the school.
The school actively looks for ways to enhance its efficiency and benefits from collaborating with others.
At Key Stage 5, the school collaborates with another School, where many of their students go on to university with others securing Apprenticeships or employment.
The school works hard to make sure that every student graduates with the knowledge and self-assurance necessary to actively participate in their communities and the credentials required to access the next stage of their education.
ICT Teacher Requirements:

A Degree in ICT with a relevant UK teaching qualification, namely a PGCE in secondary ICT with QTS.
Proven experience teaching ICT in a secondary school setting including at GCSE.
Experience using ICT tools and software to support your teaching and learning.
Willingness to attend twilight CPD and parent's evenings when required.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
ICT Teacher Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ICT lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
Incorporate relevant digital technologies and software applications into lessons to enhance learning experiences.
Develop students' ICT skills, including digital literacy, coding, multimedia production, and data handling.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver a coherent ICT curriculum across key stages.
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to keep abreast of advancements in ICT education and teaching methodologies.
