Production Manager

Location: Hinckley

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Per Annum

Production Manager required to join a growing and reputable manufacturing business in Hinckley.

As the Production Manager you will control the manufacture of products, to ensure delivery of product on time and to the right quality. This will Include supervising staff; organising, monitoring work flow and reporting.

You will oversee a team of 10 direct reports, factory hours are 8am-5pm Monday - Thursday, with a 2pm finish on Friday.

Day to Day Role of the Production Manager

  • Achieve manufacturing performance by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling and dealing with employee
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process and output results; monitoring progress; resolving problems; reporting agreed KPI’s.
  • Monitor and communicate production schedules and workloads.
  • Interpret production and shipping plans, issue work schedules and assign duties.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment used in factory by managing repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Health & Safety lead - Reporting, Investigation, IOSH compliance
  • Usual duties related to H&S such as compliance to fire regulations, other similar standard, organise training for fire wardens, first aiders, etc
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, process performance, and quality of product.
  • Deal with HR matters, including recruitment, appraisals and discipline.
  • Daily production team brief
  • Attend regular production meeting (operations, purchasing etc.)

Key Skills, Knowledge & experience

  • The ideal candidate will have come from a manufacturing background working as a Production Manager
  • Experience in supervision, coaching, managing processes, process Improvement, tracking performance, production planning
  • The determination to set oneself high standards, exceeding norms and expectations.
  • Maintain effectiveness in a changing environment and the willingness to respond quickly and positively to change.
  • The willingness and ability to help others develop appropriate knowledge skills and attitudes through objective setting, coaching, training and the provision of constructive feedback.
