About the company:

We are currently working with an established mid-size workspace design and build principal contract based in Surrey.

About the role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have several responsibilities while carrying out the role. These include:

* Conduct comprehensive and precise comparisons of subcontract prices, collaborating closely with the Contracts Manager to strategically choose the most suitable subcontractors for each project.

* Uphold meticulous financial control across all projects, ensuring the attainment or enhancement of target margins.

* Assess, value, and certify subcontract work, overseeing invoicing and payment processes to guarantee seamless financial transactions.

* Generate valuations and applications for payment to clients, promptly raising client invoices upon agreement.

* Proactively identify opportunities for Value Engineering to enhance margin and program while minimizing risks.

* Cultivate and nurture relationships with key consultants and architects to foster new business opportunities.

* Expand and diversify the supply chain by networking and building relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

* Continuously review and refine policies, practices, and procedures to drive continual improvement in our service offerings.

* Undertake thorough feasibility studies to comprehend and align with client requirements, ensuring the viability of proposed solutions.

* Stay abreast of the nuances of different building contracts to navigate projects effectively.

* Ensure timely and accurate cost and value reporting, facilitating precise cashflow management.

* Manage costs through forecasting and meticulous reconciliation of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).

* Actively participate in site meetings, overseeing change control processes, and securing variation confirmations.

* Adhere to the terms of the main contract with precision, handling all notices, confirmations, and authorities appropriately.

* Provide valuable guidance and mentorship to the project finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

Rewards and Benefits:

My client is offering a salary of £60,000 - £70,000. My client offers hybrid working with two days a week working from home. After passing your probation with the company, you will qualify for an outstanding benefits package which increases with duration at the company. Requirements:

* Hold a degree or HNC/HND in Surveying and possess a professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors.

* Accumulate a minimum of 2 years experience in a Pre-Contracts role, Contracts Manager, or Quantity Surveyor position, with a preference for expertise in commercial design & build fit-out.

* Demonstrate a proven track record of successful cost planning, coupled with the ability to skilfully value engineer designs.

* Possess a robust working knowledge of construction processes, showcasing a successful history of delivering high profits.

* Approach problem-solving with creativity and innovation, demonstrating a proactive mindset.

* Exhibit excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, fostering effective communication across all organizational levels.

* Showcase a team-focused attitude with strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.

* Pay meticulous attention to detail, applying a methodical approach to work.

* Organized with effective time management skills, ensuring efficient task prioritization and completion.

* Possess excellent numerical skills, crucial for accurate financial assessments.

* Display a good understanding of mechanical and electrical disciplines within the construction industry.

* Demonstrate a clear understanding of HSE Building Regulations and legal guidelines governing the industry.

* Hold a full and ideally clean driving license, facilitating mobility as needed for the role.
